Taken on my way down Mt. Shasta a couple of years ago. I was going through some old shots and stumbled on this one. Those are people...
WOW! that's scary and great at the same time! look at the minuscle people down there...faved!
I'm just a lurker, so far, but this photo struck me as something unique. It is a real, untouched photo of a mountain, but I see a man's face. The cleft in the snow is the jaw line; the dark lines at the lower right are the shadows of a mouth; the dark ridge at the top is an eye. You have captured one of the giants of the earth. Excellent!
Thanks for your kind words. This was a special moment. We had just summited Mt. Shasta (14,000+) and were on the way down. When we came across here earlier it was shrouded in a cloud (and I was worried). But, everything cleared just as we reached the top and then I had to stop and shoot this on the way down. It was a wonderful day!
Wow!! The people really give this shot a since of scale!! Nicely done!
This is one image of Biblical proportions! Not to mention the biblical parallel of the Red Sea parting.
Thanks. I was pretty wiped out when I took this. But it caught my eye...and well...I had my camera
stunning perspective and spectacular colours
That is absolutely surreal. I cant believe this is real.. Wow, man nice shot.
How small we are. This shot looks like it could have been taken almost anywhere -- that is, until you see the cloud-shrouded peaks in the distance. Then it starts to sink in.
Nice one, Dan.
Nice one, Dan.
Thanks Steve. This was my first payoff from joining the photo club. I went to an educational talk the other night and he suggested that people int he photographs can really give a perspective. I'm looking at my shots in a new way!
Great shot, epic scale, and excellent comp.
that is awesome i gotta fav!
